Legend below that...
They were immigrants who fought for better working conditions in the coal mines, Legend has it that ten were convicted of murder, and swore to their deaths that they were framed by some mine owners. On Black Thursday, June 21, 1877, moments before being hanged in Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe), one man placed his hand on his jail cell wall, saying his hand print would remain there forever as a sign of his innocence. There were many attempts to remove it, but it remains there to this day.
